Meet Dr. Patricia Carney
Dr. Patricia Carney, MD, FACOG, serves as the Global Medical Affairs Strategy Lead for Maternal Health at Organon. As a board-certified OB/GYN, Dr. Carney and her team are dedicated to helping ensure that treatments for abnormal postpartum bleeding, or postpartum hemorrhage (PPH), are accessible to women in need.
Dr. Carney’s journey into medicine began at a young age. Inspired by a pivotal moment during a hospital visit with her father, a physical therapist, she decided to pursue a career as a doctor after a nurse encouraged her to aim high. Despite facing numerous challenges and being one of the few women in her medical school and early career, Dr. Carney’s determination never wavered. Her experiences have shaped her approach to medicine, emphasizing the importance of representation and encouragement for future generations.
Throughout her 15-year career as a practicing OB/GYN, Dr. Carney has witnessed the profound impact of PPH on her patients. One woman’s experience1 left an indelible mark on her, fueling her commitment to advancing treatments for this condition. Her dedication to improving maternal health continues to inspire and drive her work at Organon.
Meet Dr. Amy Taneja
Dr. Amy Taneja, MD, FACOG is a Director of Medical Affairs at Organon. With nearly 20 years of experience as a board-certified OB/GYN, Dr. Taneja has dedicated her career to advancing women’s health.
Dr. Taneja’s passion for improving the lives of women has been evident since her early days in medical school. One of her most memorable experiences occurred during her first year as a resident, when she delivered a patient’s first baby. Unfortunately, post-delivery complications led to abnormal postpartum uterine bleeding, necessitating a life-saving hysterectomy. This challenging experience highlighted the critical importance of teamwork, compassionate care, and timely intervention in managing postpartum hemorrhage (PPH).
At Organon, Dr. Taneja plays a crucial role in shaping medical education and awareness around conditions such as PPH, bacterial vaginosis (BV), and fertility. Her work is vital in helping both healthcare professionals and patients understand these complex health issues. Additionally, Dr. Taneja is a familiar face in Organon’s social and media activities, where she continues to educate and inspire.
