Robert Essner
Robert Essner is the former Chairman, President and CEO of Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a global pharmaceuticals company with a substantial women’s health division acquired by Pfizer Inc. in 2009. Prior to joining Wyeth, Mr. Essner held senior roles at Sandoz Pharmaceuticals Corporation. Mr. Essner served as a Senior Advisor of Global Healthcare for The Carlyle Group Inc. from 2009 to 2019.
Mr. Essner previously served as a director of Amicus Therapeutics, Inc., and MassMutual Financial Group. He also serves as an Executive-in-Residence and Adjunct Professor of Business at Columbia Business School, where he teaches courses in healthcare management.
He received his bachelor’s degree from Miami University and his master’s degree from the University of Chicago.
