Philip Ozuah


Philip Ozuah, M.D., Ph.D., is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Montefiore Medicine, the umbrella organization for the Montefiore Health System and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Previously, Dr. Ozuah served as President (2018-2019) and Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer (2012-2018) of Montefiore Health System. Dr. Ozuah was also Chairman of the Department of Pediatrics from 2005 to 2014 and has been a Professor in the Departments of Pediatrics and Epidemiology and Population Health since 1992 at Albert Einstein College of Medicine.

Dr. Ozuah currently serves on the board of directors of The Cigna Group.  He also serves on the board of Montefiore Hospital as well as the NYC Police Foundation and Federal Law Enforcement Foundation.

Dr. Ozuah received his medical degree from the University of Ibadan in his native country Nigeria, a master’s degree in Medical Education from the University of Southern California, and a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and Administration from the University of Nebraska.
